Study Permit
International students are required to obtain a study permit for engaging in English or vocational program that is more than 6 months in duration at a designated learning institution (DLI) in Canada.
Connect International School is a designated learning institution and its DLI number is O19516905192.
The following documents are mandatory documents from Connect International School as a part of study permit application package:
- A letter of acceptance from Connect International School
- Official receipt for proof of payment
Please refer to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) website for detailed information on applying for a study permit.
Off-Campus Work
International students enrolled in our private career program (Study & Work program) are eligible to work off-campus for up to part-time (20 hours per week) during their academic study terms and full-time (40 hours per week) during term breaks.
Please refer to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) website for more details.
Co-op Work Permit
Our work and study program includes a co-op or work placement. Therefore, international students are required to apply for both study permit and co-op work. A co-op work permit is a type of work permit that allows international students to complete the mandatory work experience including co-op work placement.
It is recommended that international students must submit the application for a co-op work permit next to their study permit.
Please refer to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) website for more details.
Social Insurance Number (SIN)
A Social Insurance Number (SIN) is a 9-digit number issued by Service Canada, a Canadian government department. International students must obtain a SIN before starting work in Canada for tax filing purposes.
Please refer to Employment and Social Development Canada for applying for a SIN.
